SEE VERACRUZ

SEE THE REAL MEXICO, NOT THE TOURIST TRAPS.

Hello, I'm Felipe from Texas but I have been living in Mexico for seven years years now. I moved from the high priced, overcrowded hot city of Playa Del Carmen to the much better climate of the Sierra Madre Mountains of Veracruz, specifically Cordoba. The climate is good, the cost of living is low, the people are friendly and we have no inherent problems like the coasts like hurricanes, floods, high heat and mosquitoes.

There is a lot of history here and the small towns nearby are charming with a real old Mexico feel, open air markets where fresh produce is sold for pennies on the dollar, historic churches, natural springs to swim in along with modern day conveniences. Great food is available from local Mexican food served in restaurants, thousands of Mom and Pop stops, converted homes and even carports. Italian, seafood, Brazilian steakhouses, Chinese,  sushi and American foods like Kentucky Fried Chicken,  Subway, Little Caesars, Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Carl's Junior and more. We have the large box stores that you are accustomed to like Walmart, Sam's Club, Sears, Auto Zones, a casino, movie theatres in English all without sacrificing the authentic feel of old Mexico.

My tours are not like preplanned tours of other places, I cater to your particular wants, if you are into photography I don't mind stopping or backing up for you to get that perfect shot. If you are a foodie, I know all of the great places to eat from fine dining to out of the way local spots which serve really good local food like carnitas, chicken mole, Tlayuda and more. Wandering street musicians ply these out of the way restaurants and have really good talent. If you are more geared for looking for a place to live we can narrow that down to either big city or small towns to rural farming communities where you can have animals and grow your own vegetables. I know the cities and places of interest.
My tours encompass Cordoba, a city 404 years old with a beautiful central parka and square lined with good restaurants and coffee shops and inexpensive living. Just an hour and a half from the Veracruz International Airport and the beach with a lot to see and do.
Orizaba was voted the best magic city in Mexico for the past two years. The river walk has a zoo stretched out for several miles with monkey bridges to entertain children, the cable car goes to the top of the mountain where the invading French Army was encamped then defeated, there is a small museum with relics from the battle. The Eye of the Water is a big water park with the clear water gushing from a natural spring with diving platforms, ringed with restaurants and playgrounds as well as a swimming pool play  area, a great place to spend a warm day. The historical Iron Palace was designed by Gustave Eiffel who designed the Eiffel Tower and fabricated in Brussels, Belgium then shipped to Orizaba and assembled with over 33,000 bolts. The Poliforum is a large castle that was the former home of a duke and duchess and is now a museum with rotating displays. There is a modern two story mall with upscale stores and a large food court.
Fortin de Los Flores is a charming, smaller city that is completely walkable with everything you need in the center of town and a nice park with a restaurant in the center. The local market has the freshest produce and meat at really low prices and the housing is low. Abutting Cordoba, it has a small town feel but has everything that you need, the people who have toured here like Fortin.
Coscomatepec is a small city high in the mountains with a proud history, the Aztecs found them and demanded tribute of corn be paid to avoid slaughter. Later the Spaniards laid siege to the city and captured it, taking what they wanted, but in October 1813 Nicolas Bravo led 600 insurgents against the Spaniards in their armor with swords and cannons and defeated them. The cannoin they captured still stands at the square.
